Which Hotel?

I am currently in the process of booking hotels for our family vacation, which has lead to an abundance of stress. While the trip will be spectacular, deciding between some of the amazing hotels that England has is a rather tricky situation to be in.
While I am currently considering a wonderfully cheap hotel in Derby, I feel as though I have to keep my eyes open for other places. You see, the hotel in Derby has so many spectacular services that are available for its guests that I feel that I would spend most of my time relaxing in the hotel. While this certainly would be very enjoyable, it is not the most productive way to spend a family holiday. Thus, I feel as though I will have to save this hotel for a different time, perhaps a girls weekend sort of thing.

Although we have considered staying in the heart of London, we felt that a more laid back approach to our trip would be more beneficial. We have been to London many times over the years. Not to say that we are tired of that wonderful city, but we want to know what some of the smaller cities have to offer. Besides Derby, we are also considering staying at one of the lovely liverpool city centre hotels that we have heard so much about from our friends. They look absolutely wonderful, plus the reviews are always rather high. I do believe that we will stay in Liverpool for this trip, as the city offers some rather unique attractions. Plus, in staying in Liverpool, we will have the ability to travel to many of the smaller cities and towns that are near it. Thus, I suppose my Derby hotel will remain on the back burner for the time being.
