Catching a Glimpse of Royalty

Whether you’re a fan or not, no one can deny that royal dynasties still have the power to fascinate, as evidenced by the spectacle in London last April, when thousands people lined the streets of London hoping for a glimpse the participants of the latest royal marriage.
The world’s collective collective consciousness was captured by the life and tragic death of Diana and though the British Royal family gets most of the attention, there are still dozens of countries which have royal families.

London’s Royal Family and its heritage are a major tourist draw to the city of London, and Buckingham Palace hotels do a brisk business year round catering to the die-hard royalty fans who travel to the city to see the various sites and attractions associated with the British Royalty. Buckingham Palace, the official residence of the Queen and the monarchy, attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors each year, especially during the months of August and September, when the state rooms are open to the public during the Summer Opening hosted by the Palace.

Those interested in all things royal will certainly not be disappointed by a trip to London. There are many museums (most free to the public) which feature items of historical interest related to the British Royalty and its centuries-long reign. There are exhibitions and events related to royal history and there are many sites worth visiting in London where the past comes to life, giving visitors a deeper understanding of the role the royals have played in the history of Britain and the world at large. Most of the Buckingham Palace and London Hyde Park hotels will have information on current events and exhibitions related to the Royal Family. And who knows? If you’re lucky, you meet even get a chance to see some genuine royals in the flesh.
