The Spanish Steps

If you plan visiting Rome soon, then you should definitely visit one of the romantic sites of the ancient city – the Spanish Steps. This is a staircase of 138 steps built by Etienne Gueffier in 1725 and it connects the church Trinita dei Monti with Piazza di Spagna. There are some of the best Rome hotels nearby and many good restaurants as well.

Once you visit this amazing city, you will fall in love with it forever. I have always considered Rome as one of the most beautiful places in the world and my favorite is sitting on the Spanish Steps. It is always very crowded there and you may consider it a wonderful place for picnic but the truth is that eating there was banned.

At the base of the piazza, you can see Fontana della Barcaccia. It is a beautiful fountain built in 1629, which is mainly known as the Broken Boat. And on the right side is located the house of the famous English poet John Keats, which was turned into a museum. There is also the palace of the cardinal Lorenzo Cybo de Mari.

Nowadays the Spanish Steps are very popular place for artists and models. I recommend you not to miss visiting them and also not to miss a night in the gorgeous hotels in Rome. Enjoy the hospitality and the great customer service they offer.
