The Borough of Tower Hamlets


  The borough, located within the East End of London includes regions like Docklands, Isle of Dogs and Canary Wharf. There are some of the tallest buildings and the best London hotels. This is how the district attracts many tourists every year.




  The borough was formed in 1965 and it lies east of the ancient core of the city. If you want to visit every single landmark in the district, you must have a lot of spare time because there are many beautiful sights you should see. For example, the area called Docklands was part of the Port of London and today it is very popular tourist destination. The district has its own symphony orchestra that was formed in 2009.

  Part of Docklands is the famous Canary Wharf. It is the second main financial centre after the City of London. It is home of some of the tallest buildings and luxurious Canary Wharf hotels. The business centre was built in the West India Docks. Some of the first buildings were completed in 1991. The most popular construction in the area is One Canada Square which is mainly used for offices. The skyscraper is a famous London landmark.
