El Morro in San Juan

Have you considered where you are going to spend the coming holidays. Well, if you haven't, then think about visiting the best Puerto Rico hotels. The unincorporated territory of the US consists of a few small islands and the biggest city is its capital San Juan. The city has population of more than 600,000 and it was founded in 1521.

Though it is not very large, San Juan has a lot to show you. It is separated in three parts as the most visited and interesting is the so called Old San Juan. It is located on the western half of the island and a part of it is surrounded by the Colonial walls built to protect the city. But what deserves to be seen is El Morro – a 16th century citadel. It was designed to protect the entrance of the San Juan Bay. In 1983, the United Unions declared it as a World Heritage Site and it is now visited by more than 2 million people a year, which makes it the biggest Puerto Rico attraction.

To explore the fascinating construction, you will need more than a day and you better find an accommodation. There are some of the best hotels in Puerto Rico that offer the most luxurious guest rooms with wonderful view.
